Elisabeth Frater

Partner

Elisabeth Frater is a partner at the firm of Gravett & Frater, LLP. She practices in the firm's Business, Litigation, and Winery Compliance departments focusing on general business litigation, commercial litigation, catastrophic injury, product liability, medical malpractice, wine business law, and white collar crime defense.

With twenty years of legal experience she has tried over 100 jury trials, and represented numerous clients in arbitration and mediation. After graduating from Pitzer College, The Claremont Colleges and attending the American University in Rome, she attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law where she obtained a Juris Doctor. Ms. Frater began her legal career in 1989 as a deputy district attorney prosecuting serious felonies at the District Attorney’s Offices in San Francisco, Sacramento and Napa Counties. Ms. Frater joined the Gravett law firm in July of 2004 and became a partner in 2005. She regularly practices in seven counties throughout the state of California.

In addition to her role at the law firm, she serves as the General Counsel to ABC, LLC , a wine compliance management firm that serves wineries, custom crush clients and importers.

Outside the firm, Ms. Frater has served on the boards of a number of local organizations and non-profits including the Napa Chamber of Commerce, The American Canyon Chamber of Commerce, Child Start Inc., and The Wolfe Center. She is also a member of Napa Rotary and is the chair of the Napa Sierra Club. In her free time she loves writing about wine and her articles have appeared in the Wine Enthusiast, Wines and Vines, Washingtonian, Legal Times and the Napa Valley Marketplace.^♦
